SPHERICAL STUDY OF SPECIMEN 565995 / THE WANDERING CELESTIAL BODY
Initially created by the Bureau of Objects’ Department of Matter, this spherical study device was built to showcase the incredible complexity of Specimen 565995.
The specimen was later investigated by the Bureau’s Department of Re-Archaeology. Believing it to have possibly originated beyond the semi-major axis of 30.1 astronomical units, the Department of Re-Archaeology reclassified the specimen as a potential Rouge Trans-Neptunian Object and proposed a new name to the Committee for Small Body Nomenclature of 29978 Os Contritum. Because its trajectory through space and time has been erratic, the Department of Re-Archaeology has developed a special containment and viewing device. Os Contritum has been observed to gravitate towards landscapes indicative of its origin and was most recently captured in the Black Rock Desert. By using special viewing instruments, novice astronomers could be transported deep into the caverns of its celestial surface.
